Since the invention of the wheel, the mode of transport has taken several incarnations: from bullock carts to spaceships. Transportation helped humans to cross boundaries, countries, continents, planets, and even time. Obviously, time can also be traveled over. Even the astronauts are considered as the time travelers because due to time dilation they will be (very) slightly younger than their twin sibling who remains on earth.
Time withers human body, but we humans are trying to win over time (the so-called fourth dimension). We have crossed the three dimensions of and above the earth. The unstoppable quest for moving impelled us to reach moon and mars. There are plenty happening in the transportation industry that transforms not only the sector but also the way we live.
If you are the one who is obsessed with transportation (like me), you might have noticed the reformation in the industry. Earlier this century, taxi industry was revamped with the help of software to eliminate confusion and friction in the business. That was the most successful concept that hit the market. After that, connected intelligence has been introduced to connect fleet that moves people and goods to enhance its process and reduce operational costs and fasten the drops and deliveries.
Automakers and even several governments have plans for mega investments in electric vehicles (EVs). Tesla unveiled EVs (to have clean air in cities) as a replacement for fuel or gasoline ones. Many have accelerated a push into EVs.
The next revelation in the locomotive industry would be “Autonomous Vehicles” (self-driving car, robotic car, driverless car, etc.). Baidu, China’s Google, has launched public road tests of autonomous cars in China as an initiation to hit the roads with 100 self-driving projects that work on Artificial Intelligence (AI) by 2020. And more on its way.
Moving makes mankind evolve and rule over the universe. Advancements in the mode of transport have helped us to measure lengths and breadths of the earth, but a little behind to reach the universe. If our research on superhuman intelligence works, we will be ready to confront the concept of time traveling.
